Anyone applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK or British Citizenship must pass the Life in the UK test. The test is a requirement under the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 to demonstrate adequate knowledge of British life and sufficient proficiency in the English language.
